In "Things Fall Apart", Okonkwo's environment shapes his personality and choices by the way he has to work on his farm. In his farm, he had to plant yams. Every time he had to do farming it always rains. So, that makes his personality very angry. So, then he makes choices to farm it again and needs to make sure the seeds were okay.

Also, in "Things Fall Apart", the environment that shapes Okonkwo's personality and choices was the banana tree. That was a tree that Okonkwo planted. When Okonkwo saw the banana tree missing some leaves and bananas, Okonkwo was very angry. He even thought that the tree was dead, which was not. His personality also became very angry and he made his choice to blame the other people about the banana tree. It was actually his wife who did it.

Another environment that shaped Okonkwo's personality and choices, was the Yam Festival. He always loved the food in the festival. That makes his personality very happy that the festival is going to start in three days. But, sometimes he doesn't want to wait so he can just be in the festival. So, that made his choice to just work on the farm.

A fourth enviroment that shaped Okonkwo's personality and choices in "Things Fall Apart" was his father. His father was lazy and was addicted to alchohol. That shaped Okonkwo's personality by making him get rougher and tougher. Okonkwo made his choice not to be like his father. He makes shure he doesn't get lazy and he makes shure that he is wealthy.

In conclusion, these are the environments that shaped Okonkwo's personality and choices. Okonkwo might have some hard times in his life. But, he is actually scared about not being lazy like his father. That's why he has mostly bad personalities in his life. He also makes a lot of choices about working harder. That's why Okonkwo's environment shape his personalities and choices.

In the book "Things Fall apart", Okonkwo's environment includes people and his surroundings. His job also affect his personality. Anything that reminds him of failure or resembles his father he will get angry. If he does at his family, he will severely beat them. But if anyone else shows him disrespect, he knows how to kill someone's spirit.

In "Things Fall Apart", an example of how Okonkwo is affected by his family is when they resemble failure. Since they resemble failure sometimes he brutally beats them. As said in my previous homework comment, his father had an impact on his life. In a bad way. Only when his father started to get old and sick he began to say good examples. But he was still in debt to other people.

The second example Okonkwo's environment, is his religion/tribe rules, and his agriculture. Religion affects him by following rules, believing in different things, like gods and such. Now these rules he has to follow, affects everything in his tribe, like agriculture. An example how his agriculture affects him is, when he was talking to one of his sons. He said that yams were a mans crop. Yams are the main agricultural crop. So it affects him, his family, and his public figure to the tribe.

Another example about his personality is his past. Since his father left him alone, Okonkwo fended his house. Then the book states that he had own a farm at a young age. This is one of the important things that made his personality tough, hardy, etc. He knows what responsibility means. If anyone deserves success, it was him.

So in conclusion, the following paragraphs describes Okonkwo's personality. He maybe troubled in some cases. But has earned many, many achievements. His only drive is to be successful in life. Not to be a failure. Like I said in the previous paragraph, If anyone deserves success it was him. He still remains strong and triumphant.

Okonkwo's evnviernment effects his life style because when he sees other people doing thing that they should not be doing then he is going to have a choice . he has a choice by doing what they are doing or they have a choice by doing the right thing .the ight thing is to not do what they are doing and just walk away and let them do what they are doing.

his evnviornment also affects his life richness and his person ality because he ahs to do every thing he is sopost to do. like folling the rules, not doing what other people are doing that can get him in trouble.his enviornment also effects him because if someone killes someone or even muders the daughter of umofia but it was not the same peson that killed her but you looked like him or was even around then people are going to thin that you merdered her with the real person.

another way that okonkwo's envernment effects him is that he did the opisite thing for his father because he hated him.if his father hated blood then he loved blood.if his father had no girls then he had lots of them . if his father was poor he mad shore that he was rich.he did all that just because he hated his father.

effects him is because when he is told to do something that his father did that was right.and he says ok then he is going to do the oppisie then what his father did. he is going to the bad thing than what his father did .so if his fatherr saved a persons life then he is not going to save a persons life he is going to not save someones life.

In the story, “Things fall apart,” Okonkwo, the main character, is a wealthy and successful yam farmer. The environment he lived in shaped him into the man he was and paved his way to his future. His courage, strength, will, and his toughness all come from the environment he was raised in. There are reasons to how this tense and unforgiving environment of Umuofia gave him this success. In this essay you will learn how the environment shaped his overall personality and his choices that paved his success.

One aspect of his environment is the current status of his own village and how other clans or tribes think of it. His village is a successful village and is feared by most clans. It is also a very war oriented society. This shapes Okonkwo because it made him very aggressive towards others. He is also a very gifted warrior in the wars his village fought. On page 8 the author states, “To crown it all he had taken two titles and had shown incredible prowess in two inner-tribal wars.” This shows that he was he is tough and courageous in the face of any danger at all.

Another aspect of his environment that affects Okonkwo is that in order become successful, you must grow the main crop of the village, the yam. This influenced many of Okonkwo’s choices on what crops he would grow. In Umuofia, yam was the main crop which the village grew and it was also a form of currency which shown your own wealth to others. On page 23 of the novel the author says, “Yam, the king of crops, was a man’s crop.” This factor of his environment’s agriculture made him choose to only grow yams for a crop. This also made him believe every other crop was completely obsolete in every way. Since he grew many yams, he was wealthy and had a large complex in which he called home.

Lastly, the type of environment Okonkwo was raised in was an important factor of his life that shaped him forever. When Okonkwo was young he needed to take care of his entire family since his father, Unoka, did not have the will to help his wife and children. Unoka was a lazy and foolish man whom owed many debts to various people. At one point the author said, “Unoka, the grown up, was a failure.” Because of this Okonkwo hated everything his father had loved. This made Okonkwo a man who rarely showed his feelings and who was never happy and peppy. Clearly this made Okonkwo the complete opposite of his father.

In conclusion, Okonkwo’s environment shaped his personality and all of his choices that he had made. The agriculture of his environment made him choose to grow yams and no other crop. The war oriented society he lived in shaped him to be an aggressive young man who was very courageous. Finally, the environment he was raised in made him a man who never expressed his feelings. This is how Okonkwo’s environment shaped his overall personality and his choices.

In “Things Fall Apart” the story is about a man named Okonkwo. He is a man who has gone through many things in his life that are good and bad. In science there is a term that states “with every action there is a reaction.” This statement is saying that for everything you do something else happens. This has to do with my essay because for everything that Okonkwo does something else happens because of that. And most of his actions come from his environment because it shapes his personality and choices. The author is telling us about Okonkwo and what struggles he deals with throughout his life and how he solves them or makes them worse!

Okonkwo’s environment is a village called Umuofia. Umuofia is a very cultural environment. It’s very dependent on their crops. They throw a festival before the harvest which for one week you are supposed to rest and not commit any violence for one week. If you break these rules the harvest will not be good and you will have to face the consequences. Umuofia is not only full of culture and farming but it’s very strong. “Umuofia was feared by all it’s neighbors. It was powerful in war and in magic, and it’s priests and medicine men were feared in all the surrounding country.”

Umuofia shapes Okonkwo’s personality. Okonkwo’s personality is controlling, angry, in charge, short-tempered, and sometimes demanding. Umuofia shapes Okonkwo’s environment because the people he is around makes him feel these emotions by doing things that make him angry. Okonkwo’s short temper makes him become angry more often and most of the time it gets him in trouble. “Okonkwo ruled his household with a heavy hand. His wives, especially the youngest, lived in perpetual fear of his fiery temper, and so did his little children.”

Not only did Umofia shape Okonkwo’s personality but it shaped his choices. Okonkwo “played his game with his own rules.” Okonkwo often tried to help Umofia and sometimes the people in the environment made him choose differently. Most of the choices that Okonkwo made were not that smart. Like the time he hit his youngest wife during peace week. He luckily was not dragged to his death because Umuofia would need him if they went to war but a lot of people would blame him if the harvest was not good. “Did she ask you to feed them before she went? Yes, lied Okonkwo’s second wife. Okonkwo knew she was not speaking the truth he walked back to his obi await Ojiugo’s return, (which was his youngest wife.) And when she returned he beat her heavily. In his anger he had forgotten it was peace week. His first two wives ran out in great alarm pleading with him that it was peace week. But Okonkwo was not the man to stop beating half-way through, not even for fear of a goddess.”

Like everyone else Okonkwo’s environment shapes his personality and choices. If you live in a bad neighborhood with gangs and drugs you will think that those things are okay to do. If you live in a peaceful, quiet environment this will make you feel safe and smart. However, sometimes Okonkwo can act different from his environment. His environment makes him act mean and selfish because he feels if he doesn’t act like this he will become a failure. So in Okonkwo’s eyes if you don’t meet his standards or act like him you are a failure. Environments can shape a person and make them act the way some people act around them.

    THINGS FALL APART

Okonkwo did not grow up normal like the other children is Umuofia. His father didn’t leave anything for Okonkwo to inherit. His father’s name was Unoka. Unoka was a drunk and a loafer. He never gave anyone back their money. Instead of paying his neighbor’s back, he spent it on wine, to celebrate with others.

Okonkwo was the man of his household. Anoka raised Okinawa to be a failure. That proves that “Things Fall Apart.” Okonkwo never wanted to be like his father. Unoka might have been his father, but Okonkwo is nothing like Unoka. Okonkwo clearly washed his hands so he can eat with the kings and elders. That means that his father was the germs and he washed him out. All of Okonkwo’s past is down the drain, and he is ready to begin the future.

Knowing how Unoka acted gas effected Okonkwo is so many ways. Okonkwo has a clear perspective on how a man should act. In Okonkwo’s mind a man should provide for his family. A man should not be a loafer but a provider. You have to know that sometimes “Things Fall Apart.”Umoka inspired Okonkwo’s thoughts. Okonkwo thinks that a man should not be weak but strong. Young men shall be strong all through life. Umoka could not stand blood. Okonkwo though Unoka was a wimp.

Okonkwo is none as a strong, forceful, loyal, man of his word. He is determined to raise his son Nowye like him. Okonkwo was ready when two new missions came his way. Okonkwo was given the responsibly to go to war against Mbaino for killing a women from Umuofia. You see sometimes “Things Fall Apart.”But no one was worried, Umuofia was undefeted. After the news about the war, Okonkwo was given the responsibly to take care of a teenage boy named Ikemefuna. Okonkwo panned to raise him like his own son, and he did.

Okonkwo’s childhood inspired his future. He is a good man. If Okonkwo was like his father this book would be completely different. But he made a choice to be different. So he would not be known as that loafer’s son but as Okonkwo a great man.

    Things Fall Apart

Question/Prompt: How does Okonkwo's environment, using as much detail as possible as described in the book "Things Fall Apart", shape his personality, and choices?

Okonkwo’s environment shapes his personality. In “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe, Okonkwo relies on his environment 33%. If he relied on his environment more than 33%, he would not have the respect, reliability, organization and safety skills that his father instilled in him when he was a child. Okonkwo was a trust worthy man. He had 3 wives and many children. All of his wives were loving and caring women. I can infer that Okonkwo was trusted by these women because they stayed with him for many years. In the 3 following paragraphs I will explain why his environment has an influence on Okonkwo.

Okonkwo’s environment affects his personality, choices and shape because the Village of Umouofia is full of the most trustworthy people. When you are around most people that are sofisticated, you are most likely to become like those individuals. When Okonkwa talks to people in his village, he is respectful. The individuals in Umuofia as well as his father, tell him to respect, trust and befriend new-comers. Okonkwo’s friends in the village have a serious impact on his lifestyle and choices. Without those people he would be a failure, just like his father.

Okonkwo’s ambiance affects his life. His father was taught by these people which makes Okonwo learn exactly what his father was taught by his elderly and young villagers in Umuofia.
His environment causes him to be productive because his village is orderly and mives at a pace.
Umuofia’s citizens taught Unoka how to be respectful, reliable and organized. That is exactly what was instilled in Okonkwo. It is almost as if the eldest members of Umuofia taught Okonkwo.

Lastly, Umuofia has an impact on Okonkwo because it has taught him not only did the environment he lived in have an impact, but also his self and his family. He relies on his self 33% and relies on his family 34%. If you do the math, he relies on three things that influence nd changes your thoughts choices nd future decisions. If Okonkwo’s village had not taught Unoka how to behave Okonkwo wouldn’t be any better.

The village Umuofia is relied on 33% by Okonkwo and many other villagers. Without the elderly to teach you how to behave and hw to be respectful, the village would be an atrocious environment to live in. Everyone would yell and scream at each other. Neighbors would argue n a daily basis and not one child would benefit.

In the novel Things Fall Apart Okonkwa's environment shaped his personality and choices by the way he worked and the act of failure.Anything that reminds him of failure and his father's would get him angry. For example, whenever any of his wives goes out without him knowing or his children did something wrong or distorbing he would severley beat them but if it was anyone else he would probably have killed them.

In Things Fall Apart, Okonkwa's second wife had gone to braid her hair about ten minutes before dinner had reached,he was waiting for his wife to come and serve him dinner but instead of her bringing the food she was getting her hair done.He got up and walked towards his first wife's hut impatiently and asked for his second wife,as the second wife got back to her hut Okonkwa angrily walked towards her and slaped her then contiued to beat her inside the hut.

Another environment that shaped Okonkwa's personality was his farming,he planted yams and bannanas.Anytime that he planted crops it would always rain which caused Okonkwa to get very angry and upset. He was also anxious about the Yam festival, he was so impatient that he lost his temper which caused him to work that day of the festival.Okonkwa always took eveything with anger.

Okonkwa's other environment that shaped his personality was his father, which lead Okonkwa to be very angry at times. His father was lazy and never worked or even owned a farm, his father was always asking for money and never paid back. That's why anytime Okonkwa remembered his father he would always get angry.

In conclusion, Okonkwa went through ups and downs in his past and how his past and presents gets him angry and upset but I really think that Okonkwa shouldn't be like his father and being lazy.I think that he should be a succesful man to remember in the future.

If you break at least one these rules the whole harvest will be cursed with bad luck. Umoufia is not only full of culture but it’s very strong than all the villages. “Umoufia was feared by all its neighbors.” Umoufia shapes Okonkwo’s personality. Okonkwo’s personality is controlling, angry, in charge, and sometimes demanding.

Umoufia shapes Okonkwo’s environment because the people he is around makes him feel these emotions. “Okonkwo ruled his household with a heavy hand.” Not only did Umoufia shape Okonkwo’s personality but it shaped his choices but Okonkwo “played his game with his own rules.” Okonkwo often tried to help Umoufia and sometimes the people in the environment made him choose differently.

Okonkwo’s personality is very rough and manly in the book, “Things Fall Apart.” When he was a kid he wasn’t that manly and rough because of his environment. In his environment there was his father, and Okonkwo’s father was a wimp, scared easily, and poor. Okonkwo’s father actually helped him because Okonkwo is nothing like his father when he is older and so he never acted like his father. Without having an environment Okonkwo had then Okonkwo wouldn’t be respected and honored in his tribe.

Also Okonkwo’s personality is very aggressive and very wise. His environment affected him this way because there was no one really to teach or show him how to be a man so he just learned himself. Learning stuff by yourself makes you defeat challenges by yourself. Okonkwo learns everything by himself, not his father, nor his mother, or brothers and sisters. That shows that you are a real man and can do anything.

Okonkwo’s choices are agreeable meaning that his choices are reasonable and you would agree to it. Okonkwo chooses not to be like his father because he thinks his father is a failure and his father is. He chooses to be the opposite of his father like his father hates blood and always borrows stuff and never pays back. Okonkwo does the opposite of all of that since he had a bad past of his father.

When Okonkwo thinks of stuff that reminds him of his father he despises those stuff. He thinks his father was a failure so when his family didn’t word hard he usually beat them. He beat them because his father never worked and never helped Okonkwo while he had his own farm. So Okonkwo’s environment is all about being respected and strong so he tries to be all of those things.
Now in conclusion Okonkwo never acted like his father. He had many problems in his younger age because of his father. His environment respects and honors Okonkwo because he is strong, wise, brave, and responsible. That is everything the tribe looks for in a man.

Okonko's village of Umofia is his enviornment. This enviornment greatly shapes his personality. Umofia is calm and peaceful village of respect and leadership. Everyone there worked hard which shaped how Okonkwo acted and the image of his father. It was the main reason he grew up hating his father.

Growing up in village full of hard workers and having his father die, Okonkwo was a hard worker. He grew yams and other crops just like the other men in the village. The work could have affected how he felt about his father since his father had never done it. He would watch the other men work hard while his father just sat at home made him feel as though his father was lazy. And he was right because his father was.

Okonkwo was ashamed of his father for being lazy. This created his vision of man and he felt anyone who did not meet these standards to him was a woman. For this reason he grew up violent toward anyone who he saw as lazy or as being in the wrong. But he was nicer toward people he saw as workers and leaders. This was a major thing that changed his life.

Okonkwo's outside of home enviornment was the village itself. He trusted and respected the elders and people who had high standing ranks. He tends to get out of hand when he is mad. But the elders are able to keep him in line when he is not furious. He is a great wrestler which came most likley as a result of having to mainly support himself.

The last part of his enviornment is his cultural enviornment. He was a very spiritual man. He prays often to consult his god(s) on what to do in his life. He has an area that house all of his symobols for his god(s). This shapes his personality by allowing him a sense of self-control which is why he does not go blindly attacking people.

In “Things Fall Apart” many things make up Okonkwo’s environment. Some of the things that make up his environment are farming, stature and culture. Okonkwo’s personality and choices are shaped by his environment. In “Things Fall Apart” it says that “among these people a man was judged according to his worth.” More than anything, Okonkwo wanted to be recognized as an honorable man by his family and his village.

“Yam, the king of crops was a man’s crop.” Farming played a major role in Okonkwo’s environment. Okonkwo did not inherit what other young men did. This shaped his personality by making him determined and hardworking as a young man. “The year Okonkwo took eight hundred seed-yams from Nwakibie was the worst year in living memory.” However, Okonkwo said that if he survived that year, he would survive anything.

“Age was respected among his people, but achievement was revered.” Okonkwo gained fame as a wrestler and respect with two titles. He called a man a woman for having no titles. Okonkwo chose to do things that he felt would bring honor and recognition. His stature made him arrogant but respected by his village.

Culture plays a big part in Okonkwo’s personality and choices. He makes many of his decisions based on what he sees as acceptable in his culture. When it was decided that a messenger should go to Mbaino with an ultimatum, Okonkwo went without hesitating. The mission could have cost him his life. This shows that he was both obedient and fearless.

Being recognized as a great man by his family and village is what Okonkwo wanted most. The weight of his responsibilities did not make him kind but his family did not starve. He worked hard at providing for his family, gaining titles and brining honor to his village. Okonkwo’s personality and choices were shaped by everything around him, negative and positive. Farming made him determined, stature made him proud and his culture gave his something to believe in.

Okonkwo enviroment shapes they way he makes decissions is the men in his tribe were the hard working men. They work on farms to collect yams used as money. In okonkwos family unoka is more of the hobo kind of man.
He borrows so much money from so many people he cant pay it back. But okonkwo on the other hand does all of the mens work.
He does his best to collect yams to take care of his family. His dad so became distrusted in his tribe. People didn't want to give him any money to tkae care of his family. Many of his so called wrlike people were very strict. And they had something called the yam festival. They would harvest the yams in honor of his great ancestors. And okonkwo was apart of it as well.
Okonkwo didn't want to make the same mistake his father made. So he washed hs hands and ate with kings and elders. The reason why he washed his hands is because he wanted to wash off his sins, feelings, and or problems. He became a better man and strated to make wise decisions. He then became a very noble man. His choices became very wise.
He was a very good man. His tribe admired his nobleness and wis choices he made. He didn't do anything that he would regret in life. He was a wise man and he had a lot of peoples trust. So he decides that he can make a bigger diffrence in his tribe.
Then his tribe changed the way he acted and made choices. He soon started on his mission to change his tribe in a very good way. It was manditory that he didn't go overboard with his changes in the world. He soon was a noble old man. And then he will soon become a hero. So his choices went the right way in life. And that is how he made his choices.

In the book "Things Fall Apart" Okonkwo’s personality is shaped mostly off his dad,and environment basically everything around him.Okonowo's father is poor, weak, and,a wimp. His father is also very lazy.He does not want to work at all.
This affects how Okonowo`s personality is shaped because he is basically around his father everyday. His father teaches him his ways but Okonowo does not want to be this way. Also he does not want to hurt his father.Because he is basically the only person he has in his life.
Based on environment the village the okonowo`s personality is shaped off of there to. The village of Umuofia is a respectful peaceful and organized city. Thats were he gets it from. The people that live there are hardworking respectful people. They also have many rules there that are expected to be followed and if not there are consequences. That is how Okonwo learns to be obedient and listen.
Okonowo is very determined to be something he does not want to be a failure like his dad.He works hard for gaining skills and giving his village honor. His village brings around him good energy and bad energy. His culture and religion also makes him who he is. This is because they are very strict when it comes to work you have to be very determined if you want to succeed.
So basically Okonowo is a very determined young man whose personality is based off of his religion, culture, enviroment, and his father. But Okonowo works hard and has self control. His past and present has most affect on how he acts. But watever Okonowo want he will be abile to get it because of the kind of person he is.

So basically Okonowo is a very determined young man whose personality is based off of his religion, culture, environment, and his father. But Okonowo works hard and has self control. His past and present has most affect on how he acts. But whatever Okonowo want he will be abile to get it because of the kind of person he is.

Question: How does Okonkwo’s environment, using as much detail as possible as described in the book “Things Fall Apart”, shape his personality, and choices?

1st paragraph-In Umofia, Okonkwo’s c choices had a major impact on everything that took place in his life, including the way people treated him in the village. For example, in Umofia people treated you by your social class and title in the village. This title was obtained and given to you by your wealth and prosperity. For instance, the number of yams you owned, how many wives you had and also the way your chi and/or personal god treated and listened to you. Overall your title, wealth, and prosperity determined who you were, what you were, and most importantly what value and importance you had in the village.

2nd paragraph-Okonkwo had taken 3rd title in the village, a title his father never had the opportunity of upholding. “Okonkwo was clearly cut out for great things.” Even though he was still young and coming of age, he was very prosperous in life. He had won the title of the greatest wrestler in Umofia and the eight villages surrounding it. “He was a wealthy farmer and had two barns full of yams, and had just married his third wife.” “Also to crown it all he had taken two titles and had shown incredible prowess in two inter-tribal wars.” So taking into account all of these achievements, Okonwo was very well-respected among the people in the village.

3rd paragraph- There were many things that motivated Okonkwo to achieve and accomplish the events that were stated in the previous paragraph. Some of these reasons were because of his environment. Okonkwo knew that if he didn’t succeed in life or the village there would be great consequences. For example, villagers of Umofia were buried based on their title in the village. So because his father Unoka didn’t have a title he was cast into the Evil Forest to die, instead of being given a proper burial. Okonkwo also knew that the way people treated you rested on your title. For example because Okonkwo’s father Unoka didn’t have a title, people treated him without much respect, and also called him a loafer and an agbala which means woman in Umofia. So even though Unoka was a failure and a deadbeat parent to Okonkwo, Okonkwo used his father’s failure and his environment as a constant motivator.

4th paragraph-There were many reasons why Okonkwo had a fiery temper. In Umofia women were considered property and all of the men who had accomplished great things or had received titles dominated the village. However whether you had a title or not the man dominated the house. Okonkwo dominated his household very well, and he did it with a heavy hand. “His wives, especially the youngest, lived in perpetual fear of his fiery temper, and so did his little children.” Okonkwo was a man who spoke his mind and was quick to judge any man in the village who he thought was short of a man. He was also quick to use physical action against his wives and children when he thought they had not done a satisfactory job or even completed a job he told them to do.

Conclusion paragraph- Okonkwo’s environment effected his beliefs, actions, and overall being. Okonkwo’s environment also effected his perception of what a man was, which to him a man was the opposite of what his father was. His environment also motivated him to accomplish all of his goals in life. Overall he allowed society to influence his life, personality and choices. Okonkwo was not an agbala, Okonkwo was a man.

In the book " Things Fall Apart we see how Okonkwo's environment has shaped his personality and chioces in life. Unoka, Okonkwo's father was a failure. He was poor and his wife and children had barely had enough to eat. When unoka died, Okonkwo's whole life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and of weekness. It was the fear of himself, lest he should be found to resemble his father.

Okonkwo worked hard at an early age to achieve great success. He had acheived fame as the greatest wrestler in all the land. Okonkwo was respected for his industry and success. He was a wealthy farmer and had barns, two wives and kids. And he had shown incredible prowess in two interitrbal wars.

Okonkwo was strong and tough. He had no patience with unsuccessful men. He ruled the household with a heavy hand. Even his wives were in perpetual fear of his fiery temper. Deep inside okonkwo was not a cruel man. But his whole life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and of weakness.

Okonkwo worked daily on his farms. He was strong and rarely felt fatigue. Okonkwo's first son Nwoye was twelve years old and was causing his father anxiety. Because of his laziness okonkwo never showed any emotion openly. To show a sign of weekness.

In the book" Things Fall Apart things actually began to fall apartfo okonkwo when he beat his wife on the week of peace. Which angered his tribe, his family, and the high priest. The priest spoke to okonkwo with anger and resentment for breaking the rules . For this okonkwo had to repent and offer his sacrifices . In wardly okonkwo was repentent but outwardly he still remained proud. Dumbleness was a sign of weekness. But he learned his lesson.

  21. In 'Things Fall Apart',Oknokwo's personality is based on the way his enviorment is. His enviorenment is based on titles. The titles go off of how wealthy you are and how well you have your life. In other words, he will be have his title given from how many wives he has, how much money he has, and how strong he is.

Also, the way he acts has to do with how his childhood was. This in my meaning is saying that he might've had a bad haunting childhood or he may've had happy, wishful childhood. In my mind, and from the book, Oknokwo had a childhood that is strict. His father what to do and what not to do. Oknokwo did what his father said not to do and did not do what he was supposed to do. He did this because he didn't want to become like his father, an addict to ahlcohol.

The reason the book is called 'Things Fall Apart' is because things do fall apart within Oknkwo being cursed during the Week of Peace. As everyone in the book knows, the Week of Peace is a peaceful week were everyone is happy and the apmosphere is ever so calm and mellow. The rule is to keep the peace afoat, as in, no arguing, hitting, all in all: NO DISRUPTION OF THE PEACE! Oknokwo, beaing his wife, broke that only rule and ended up with a curse inwhich made his life fall and crumble.

I believe that Oknokwo didn't understand that when you are a high titled person, everything yo udo is out in the open. And when you do something ignorant, like beat your wife, you are looked as a very angry and strict person. It's as if you are the class clown at your school. You make the 'funniest' of jokes and everyone is laughing and having a great time, just having a ball. But what you may fail to realize is that, when you act a certain way, a higher force sees you as foolish and a distrubance in class. In that saying, you will end up getting expelled from school.

In closing, I must say when your angry, you become ignorant in what you are saying and doing. But, when you are calm and excepting, everything goes nice and easy. If you look at many people in our/your classroom. They except many things like homework. They do the homework at any cost and they may not be calm about it class. But, out of class, they are working towards their grade like there is no tomorrow.

In the story “Things Fall Apart” the main character is Okonkwo. He worries about what people think about him. So he chooses his decisions carefully so he doesn’t make any mistakes. “Okonkwo is tall and huge, and has bushy eyebrows and wide nose gave him a very severe look.” Okonkwo is a very strong man but he lets the environment choose his decisions for him.

Okonkwo's environment affect's him a lot. "Okonkwo was well known throughout the nine villages and even beyond.” He thinks everyone depends on him to be the leader. He has gained a lot of respect from his fellow neighbors, and doesn't want to lose it. He also brings honor to his village and has a lot of personal achievement increasing his fame throughout the village. He is very successful for the young age of eighteen.

The environment is very violent if you break their rules. I think that leads Okonkwo to be abusive to his son Nwoye. Okonkwo doesn't want Nwoye to ruin his great reputation. Okonkwo really doesn't want himself or Nwoye to end up like his father Unoka. Unoka is a lazy and improvident man and Okonkwo thinks that Nwoye is going to be the same if he keeps acting the way he is. Okonkwo isn't really a bad man I think he is just too young to handle all of this pressure.

Okonkwo chooses his choices very carefully. He chooses them carefully because he doesn't want to make any mistakes that ruin his great reputation. Everybody has an effect on him. His father especially has a big impact on life, choices, and his personality. Everybody around him really makes his choices for him.

Onkonkwo needs to start thinking for him. Everybody stress him about being a good leader. Okonkwo wants Nwoye to be just like him when he grows up. When Unoka was young he was a nice kid. Everybody has something good in them even though it seems like they don't.

Okonkwo’s environment shaped his personality, because your environment could influence how you act towards people. He lived in a strict village. They tolerated nosense and strived for the best. That is why he is hard on his children. He wants the best for them, to be succsesful, and be prosperous. He takes the wrong the wrong approach, and is rude to them.

He is more hard on the boys than girls and thinks that girls cant do men’s work. He had to adapt to them. The relationship between his wives horrible. He has very sexist ideas as to how relationships between husband and wife should be. He acts rude, and acts in a very impatient manner towards them.

He treats them with no respect whatsoever, he loves them but show his love in a awkward way to show it. He connects with Ezinma mostly. She understands him. He likes her the most. They get along better than the other children.

He treats his wives with no respect but cares for them in his own way. He lives in a society that has narrow minded views. Women should have say in how they behave. They treat their wives horrible. They see nothing wrong with it.

In conclusion I must say that okonkwo can be mean but wants to discipline his children. He does it in a firm tone but still loves tone but still loves them. He dosent want them to be wimps he wants them to be strong and powerful. He is hard on them so it could benifit them later on. He always will want to correct their mistakes so they can learn from them.
